day 10: Rain Clouds

CUMULONIMBUS clouds are piled up high like scoops of dark ice cream. These clouds usually bring rain showers. To the north, in the background, it looks to be already raining heavily, whilst here on the top of Trencrom Hill we are enjoying sunshine and blue skies

December’s #SquareSky challenge | Rain Clouds

  1. Sue says:

…but the rain will reach you later??

    1. Heyjude says:

depends on which way the wind blows πŸ™‚
      Snowing down your way yet?

      1. Sue says:

        Gently….and not settling at present

  2. BeckyB says:

That’s HUGE . . .I know you said you had a big sky to share but wasn’t expect clouds of that size. Not thinking icecream today looking at these but I can see a pot on its side with a rabbit sitting in it!

    1. Heyjude says:

Haha… you DO have an imagination πŸ™‚

      1. BeckyB says:

        Can’t you see it?!!! πŸ˜‰

        1. Heyjude says:

I hate to admit this, but yes, I can!

  3. restlessjo says:

Fab! Almost back from Leeds and the snow is just arriving. Sounds horrible down south xx

    1. Heyjude says:

Wasn’t settling in Surrey or Doncaster or Wiltshire earlier. I have one very young granddaughter eager to build her first snowman!!

      1. restlessjo says:

Logan kept looking out of the window hopefully but it was very wishy washy snow down there. I suggested it might snow overnight and he could sledge to school tomorrow. Fingers crossed! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Norfolk family have it.

        1. Heyjude says:

Alex said it was too wet to settle. The eastern side of the Pennines get drier snow when it comes across from the east (Scandinavia and Russia)

  4. I love your sky photos – you have a good eye. πŸ™‚

    1. Heyjude says:

I have a lot of sky photos it seems!

  5. Lucid Gypsy says:

Not too sure about ice cream, but I do like to watch clouds rolling past.

  6. Su Leslie says:

Beautiful! I’ve just seen Tish’s snow pics and this is a lovely contrast.

    1. Heyjude says:

Extremely windy last night! I thought we’d lose our roof!

  7. Another beautiful Cornish day.

  8. You do skies well in Cornwall.

    1. Heyjude says:

Thank you. Lots of clouds πŸ˜€

  9. pommepal says:

We saw the snow in UK on the tv news last night and yes I can see the rabbit now Becky has mentioned it…

  10. beetleypete says:

You are becoming something of a cloud specialist, Jude. That’s a great shot. Julie looks for faces in clouds, and always finds one…
    Best wishes, Pete. x

    1. Heyjude says:

I do seem to have a lot of sky photos! I have never looked for faces or animals in clouds, perhaps I should πŸ™‚

      1. beetleypete says:

That way lies madness… Don’t do it! x

        1. Heyjude says:

          πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
