No, I’m not really a boatie. While we were away recently, we went out for a day on the Nicholson River with friends who’ve bought a beautiful old wooden boat. It was a lovely day. They found this boat for sale moored near to where they live and bought it for a steal. It needs a lot of work but it will be gorgeous when it’s restored.
This was very serene, slow and easy. I’m sure you would be fine. We just tootled up the river and down again to the mouth of the river where it enters King Lake. The biggest excitement was the huge tiger snake which swam past – thank goodness it didn’t take any notice of us.
Nice one Jude
Thanks PP 🙂
Looks even better, clicked on and enlarged. Sharp as a tack.
Best wishes, Pete. x
Thanks Pete. This one did come out quite well.
Oooh, there’s one for sale. It doesn’t look very well equipped though.
You’re not tempted then?

A boat on a river I might be able to handle, but I really am the world’s worst sailor.

Yikes! You Aussies and your snakes…
It was enormous and stripy and skimming over the water. Very creepy. 😮
I find ALL snakes creepy.
Me too. Spiders I can handle, snakes are ghastly.
Does this harbour freeze over and the boats taken out for the winter?
Nothing freezes over down here! At least I hope not!
Here all the boats get hauled out of the water until the spring thaw.
This works really well with all the lines.
