  1. I love this kind of foregrounding.

Thanks Meg, it works well in this instance.

I love this composition Jude and it is enhanced for me with those gorgeous red hot pokers. I cannot grow them here, but in NZ I had a border of them right along the drive. You could’ve put this into the “glow” WPC…

    1. Heyjude says:

I could have used it for glow, if I’d known what was coming! These look lovely en masse like this, but I dislike the way the flowers die off leaving ugly brown dead flowers on the stem.

Yes they have to be dead headed to keep them tidy.

      Thank you 🙂

This has a great retro feel, Jude. Like an old Kodak slide.
    Best wishes, Pete.

      Yes, very apt description, Pete!

    2. Heyjude says:

I used a vintage effect on the image Pete, glad you like it.

        Worked like a dream! x

A touch of the 1970s to this, like a faded transparency, recalling childhood holidays…..

    1. Heyjude says:

Vintage effect Sue, so spot on!

    Marvelous and unusual!

  6. Fabulous composition. I love how those oranges pop, but then are blurred a little to look nostalgic. 🙂

Nik software Cathy. I like to experiment now and then and using this is so much easier than using Photoshop Elements on its own.

      1. You’re so skillful with post-processing, Jude. I should push myself to do more in this area and to learn some new things!

I go through phases of not bothering to playing a lot. Depends on the subject really and how bored I am. Photo challenges often inspire me to be inventive.

The Laundry Lawn? I didn’t see any undies or teacloths hanging out! 🙂 🙂 Lovely composition though, Jude.

    1. Heyjude says:

They used to use it for laundry – must have needed strong pegs as it can be very windy on this spot! Now used for picnics or just sitting around admiring the views 🙂

I know it’s a nice view anyway, but the flowers really bring it to life. Great composition Jude!

    1. Heyjude says:

Thanks Gilly, the flowers really caught my eye.

This pic was in the ‘related’ and I had to come back to see it again because it’s fab 🙂

          One of my favourites 🙂

Thank you. It has changed my (preconceived) view of Cornwall… I would imagine it rather black and white. 🙂
Though on second thought, summer days must be glorious.
    (Definitely on my Travel-To list)
    Bon week-end

    1. Heyjude says:

Sunny days are glorious no matter what the season 🙂

All the more so in the UK? 😉
Can’t complain: been to London briefly the past two summers and had a glorious weather. Global warming will put palm trees in the British Isles…
