I am trying to take more landscape or seascape photos, but whenever I am near a harbour and see the boats I get distracted by the minutiae of all things nautical.

Wonderful distractions, and another ripper of a header. Colours, knots, braiding of ropes, chains, rust, peeling paint: what’s not to like??? May all distractions be as creative.
Thank you Meg. I figured you’d like this. π
I can understand how easily it is to get distracted, Jude, Cornish harbours are always full of loads of photographic distractions!
BTW, I like your view from St Ives harbour, looking back towards Carbis Bay:-)
Get distracted all you like, the results make for some really interesting pictures!
Nice Collage of Distractions you’ve put together there π
A great set of ‘details’ there, Jude.
I used to hunt down rusty chains at one time. I found them fascinating.
Best wishes, Pete. x
Strange isn’t it as to what attracts us.
Oh, beautiful distractions! I can quite see the pull of the nautical!
I’m glad that you do Jude. A lovely set of close-ups. I have the opposite problem. I feel I need to start looking a little closer in at the same time as looking out! π
Yes, but your landscapes are very, very special and have inspired me to look out, however I shall never get anywhere close to what you create.
I love ropes, maybe because they remind me of threads which I also love.
Some fascinating photos here. I love the nets, ropes and chainlinks – the more worn, the better!
My thoughts exactly! Thanks Margaret.
Nice collage!
