the sky has been a solid shade of steely grey, with only a glimmer of light
bringing relief, soon to be replaced by charcoal clouds scudding across the sky and spits of rain splattering onto the skylight.
So tonight it was a relief to sit and watch the sky turn pink as the sun slid below the horizon.
As winter draws near we in the northern hemisphere greedily consume every light ray that comes our way. Although some of us may prefer to hibernate until spring.

I do love a twilight sky! We had a fantastic one here a couple of nights ago where the sky was pink from side to side, turning to a deep purple – no photographic evidence unfortunately.
