A terrace of whitewashed walls and shutters the colour of the sea.
Blue and white are colours typically associated with the sea and the beach. Holiday homes often use them to create a relaxed atmosphere and there are no shortage of holiday homes in St Ives.
And even the independent shops join in with the colour scheme. The hues ranging from the delicate, barely blue, to moody indigo. Colours of the sea.
And a bright primary colour can provide a distinctive contrast.

A great way to encapsulate a town. I love these shades of blue and you’re so right about the red. I wonder what colours I can deconstruct Warsaw into. Red and white is probably the immediate answer!
The perfect colour combination, Jude and so fresh and pretty. I love Cath Kidston stores. We don’t have them here so I’ll be on the lookout when I’m visiting.
Those colours just scream ‘SEASIDE’, Jude. Wonderful stuff indeed.
Regards as always, Pete. x
Oh, this looks like my kind of town! So beautiful😉
Very picturesque and very busy 🙂
I’ll take the picturesque! Someone else can have the busy!
I love those colour combinations by the seaside and the little details like a shell here or there. Lovely.
Nice one Jude!
You can see why traditional Cornishware is blue and white 🙂
Really lovely shades of blue! It certainly looks like a good place for a holiday.
A lot of people would agree with you 🙂
OMG..I love these hues of blue!
Thanks so much for linking up.
You’re welcome Dawn. Glad you enjoyed them.
Very pretty! I especially love the lilacy blue in that first gallery. 🙂
Phew! I can breath again for a little while. Rafa got the first set 🙂
How serene and pretty.
Not so serene at the moment – chockablock with tourists!
Ah – sounds like you live in a similar place to me. Down here August is the only really quiet month due to wintery weather. Even so intrepid European backpackers still visit.
