Blue and White Cornwall

A terrace of whitewashed walls and shutters the colour of the sea.

Blue and white are colours typically associated with the sea and the beach. Holiday homes often use them to create a relaxed atmosphere and there are no shortage of holiday homes in St Ives.

And even the independent shops join in with the colour scheme. The hues ranging from the delicate, barely blue, to moody indigo. Colours of the sea.

And a bright primary colour can provide a distinctive contrast.

This monthly challenge is hosted by Dawn from ‘The Day After’ who invites participants to post pictures of any windows that  they find curious, inviting, photogenic, or in some way tell a story. Visit her blog to see more windows and/or to join in with the challenge.

  1. A friend shared a post on Facebook recently that made me realise how many different words there are to describe blue. Looks like you could possibly find every one of them in St Ives. [As I was going to…] Told you, I can’t help it…..

  2. I love the combination of blue and white – it’s so fresh and ‘seasidy’. 🙂

let's have a conversation...
