Welcome to the foxgloves

A couple of weeks ago I was pleasantly surprised to discover patches of bluebells on the top of Trencrom Hill. Today I went back to see how the then burgeoning foxgloves were faring.

I was not disappointed.

I was also delighted to find stonecrops (sedum) spreading out along the edges of the granite rocks, small clumps ofΒ tiny yellow (unknown) flowers, red curly dock, and golden grasses.

The rich purple spires rise above the waves of golden grasses contrasting against the bright green pastures below.

My neighbouring nature reserve just keeps on giving me pleasure.

A lovely display of colourful foxgloves Jude. The header photo looks great!
I was somewhat confused by that colour in the sky though. ‘Blue’ you say?
    I don’t think that’s allowed in Norfolk.
    Regards as always, Pete. x

I’m like a child in a sweet shop when I go up there Jo, always so much to see and I probably miss half of the flora!

Company arrived? I’ve got Queens on in the background while I work on tomorrow’s post. Seesaw weather here. Yesterday lovely, today not πŸ™‚

  8. Pleasure upon pleasure, Jude. Including great photos – my favourite the one you describe so well: “The rich purple spires rise above the waves of golden grasses contrasting against the bright green pastures below.”

    1. Heyjude says:

They were even more astounding than I imagined. I have seen them stately rising from the hedgerows, but never so many in one patch together.

  9. Well, that was a lovely bright post to read at the end of a gloomy winter day. Thanks! πŸ™‚

    1. Heyjude says:

Good isn’t it that we can cheer one another through our winters πŸ™‚

How beautiful and how lovely to have such a place on your doorstop! I have one gorgeous foxglove in my garden but the storms on Monday brought it down 😦 I’ve re-staked it though, and it looks to be recovering πŸ™‚

    1. Heyjude says:

it is definitely a delightful nature reserve and most of the time we have it to ourselves.

      1. Sherri says:

That’s amazing…I want to live there too!!!!!

        1. Heyjude says:

Should I ask the cows to move?

        2. Sherri says:

Haha…why not? Although I am very fond of cows, having grown up around them in Suffolk πŸ˜‰

        3. Heyjude says:

I’ll tell them to expect you then πŸ˜‰

        4. Sherri says:

          Thanks…tell them I’ll be over soon! πŸ™‚
