A couple of weeks ago I was pleasantly surprised to discover patches of bluebells on the top of Trencrom Hill. Today I went back to see how the then burgeoning foxgloves were faring.

I was not disappointed.

I was also delighted to find stonecrops (sedum) spreading out along the edges of the granite rocks, small clumps ofΒ tiny yellow (unknown) flowers, red curly dock, and golden grasses.
The rich purple spires rise above the waves of golden grasses contrasting against the bright green pastures below.
All framed by a beautiful blue sky and fluffy white powder puff clouds.
My neighbouring nature reserve just keeps on giving me pleasure.
A lovely display of colourful foxgloves Jude. The header photo looks great!
I was somewhat confused by that colour in the sky though. ‘Blue’ you say?
I don’t think that’s allowed in Norfolk.
Regards as always, Pete. x
Haha… we have your rain today, you can have it back, thank you!
Your very own nature’s playground, Jude. π Loving the ‘bright green pastures below’ shot too.
I’m like a child in a sweet shop when I go up there Jo, always so much to see and I probably miss half of the flora!
Company arrived? I’ve got Queens on in the background while I work on tomorrow’s post. Seesaw weather here. Yesterday lovely, today not π
Beautiful, simply beautiful! π
π
How gorgeous, Jude! You really do live in a wondrous part of England. π
Sure has lots of delights and the nice thing about this is that it is free!
π
How could you not find pleasure in a neighbourhood like this? Stunning Jude!
It is a great hill – with views too!
Jude, your move to Cornwall has been good for us all. We are lucky to be seeing this stunning place through your photos.
I got some fab cloud shots too π
It’s as if they came out and posed just for you Jude – and us of course π
I’m wondering what delights the hill holds for me next!
and so am I!
Pleasure upon pleasure, Jude. Including great photos – my favourite the one you describe so well: “The rich purple spires rise above the waves of golden grasses contrasting against the bright green pastures below.”
They were even more astounding than I imagined. I have seen them stately rising from the hedgerows, but never so many in one patch together.
Well, that was a lovely bright post to read at the end of a gloomy winter day. Thanks! π
Good isn’t it that we can cheer one another through our winters π
How beautiful and how lovely to have such a place on your doorstop! I have one gorgeous foxglove in my garden but the storms on Monday brought it down π¦ I’ve re-staked it though, and it looks to be recovering π
it is definitely a delightful nature reserve and most of the time we have it to ourselves.
That’s amazing…I want to live there too!!!!!
Should I ask the cows to move?
Haha…why not? Although I am very fond of cows, having grown up around them in Suffolk π
I’ll tell them to expect you then π
Thanks…tell them I’ll be over soon! π
